Exoplanet Explorer

This interactive scatter‑plot visualises a small sample of the NASA Exoplanet Archive – a catalogue of planets outside our Solar System. Each dot represents a confirmed exoplanet. The horizontal axis shows the planet’s radius (in Earth radii) and the vertical axis its orbital period (in days). Colour encodes the detection method (e.g., Transit, Radial Velocity, Imaging, etc.). I chose this dataset because it blends astronomy with data science: the diversity of worlds is astonishing, and the discovery techniques reveal how astronomers hunt for them. Hover over a dot for details, and use the check‑boxes to filter by detection method.
